San Diego Water Has A Few Common Surprises.
Our local tests consistently show patterns most homeowners don’t expect. Here’s what we typically find — so you can know what to look for in your own home.
14–17 GPG
(Hardness above the scale threshold)
Most San Diego homes we test score between 14 and 17 grains per gallon — well above the 7 GPG
Chloramine
(Standard pitchers don't remove it)
Almost all San Diego water uses chloramine disinfection. Most pitcher filters and basic carbon systems do not remove it.
PFAS
(Elevated near older infrastructure)
Homes near older infrastructure or military-adjacent areas can show elevated PFAS markers worth confirming.
